September
- DUS Senior Night: Tuesday, September 12th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
- Start your college applications
- Get your letters of recommendation (2-3)
- Write your college essays
- Register for the ACT/SAT tests
- Start applying for scholarships. Click here to view the Denver Scholarship Foundation scholarship list.
October
- FAFSA becomes available on October 1st at fafsa.ed.gov
- Continue working on college applications, essays and letters of recommendation
- Register to retake the ACT/SAT if you’re not satisfied with your current scores
- Continue searching for scholarships
November
- Early application and early decision college apps due
- There is still time to retake the ACT/SAT tests!
- Work on college applications
- Apply for scholarships
- Complete the FAFSA and CSS profile, if needed
- Turn in applications by the end of November, to make sure your transcripts go out before winter break
December
- DUS Senior Night: Wednesday, December 6th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
- Continue applying for scholarships
- Complete the FAFSA
- Work on college applications
January/February
- DUS Senior Night: Wednesday, February 7th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
- Complete any last minute college applications
- Continue applying for scholarships
March
- FAFSA should be submitted no later than March 1
- Apply to institutional scholarships by March 1
- Students will start receiving financial aid award letters
- Start filling out housing applications if you’re living on campus
- Don’t forget to complete the College Opportunity Fund!
April
- DUS Senior Night: Wednesday, April 18th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
- Review award letters and complete financial aid
- Continue searching for and applying to scholarships!
- Continue working on housing applications
- Sign up for new student orientation online
May/June/July/August
- Throughout May, enrollment deposits will be due. Not all schools require them, and they vary by school
- In June and July, students should plan on attending a new student orientation
- Financial aid must be complete by July 15 in order to receive fall semester payments on time
- Some students are selected for verification, and have to submit additional documents in order to receive financial aid
- Mid-August: Students move on-campus and/or start class
